FAM TEAM
FAM TEAM is a group of companies that was born from the shipping industry, its roots go back to 1920,
when Mr. Roberto Cavelier started the agency service, later, Mr. Carlos Aragón, Mr. Juan Santamaria and
the Cavelier Family created FAM as a General agent in 1991 following the Cavelier family tradition in the
business and the Knowhow Mr. Aragón had from years of work at FMG (Flota Mercante Grancolombiana).
Not only the agency flourished by representing successfully APL from 1994 to 2018 (when APL commercial
agency moved to CMA CGM Group), but also from its shipping tradition, controlling Frontier Liner services
from 1991 to 2006, creating CY de Colombia major Container Yard in Cartagena, but also today, with stakes
in three forwarding companies, and in terminals both for containers and Bulk in Colombia.
Today the group invests in all areas of logistics and employs more than 200 direct employees.
FAM TEAM has always focused on customer service both for the principal and its customers,
trough top IT and communications and by developing inhouse software that integrates
seamlessly with carriers, customs, authorities, yards and banks, always adapting to the latest
technology and changes from the industry.The group holds the best standards in Colombia for Human
Resources (attracting and holding
the best talent) and processes (ISO and BASC certified), which ensures information security,
financial accountability and long-term stability.
We run as a family business, as such, we look at the long term, by growing responsibly with our
principals and its customers, this is how we are recognized by the industry{s, main
shippers/consignees and NVOCCs/Forwarders.
